We launched the Hudson Street Salon to revive the power of conversation among women. Too many of the interesting events in NYC are prohibitively expensive or overcrowded, limiting our opportunities to engage thoughtfully with leaders in politics, the arts, the environmental movement, health and wellness industry, social advocacy, and academia. The alternative, we thought, is to host events that are intimate, free, and, most importantly, will broaden our worldview. With much enthusiasm, we have started the Hudson Street Salon.

Throughout the year, the Hudson Street Salon will host a variety of dynamic speakers and remarkable women (see Salon Events). If there is a particular topic that you would like to have featured or speakers you would like to suggest, please let us know. We look forward to these evenings of wit, wisdom, and wine.

We also would like to thank those of you who helped us to make our idea come to life: Debbie Mahony at Design Spinner for her unflappable spirit and clever web design; Karen Hsu and Alice Chung at Omnivore for their creative graphic design; Scott Skey and Nick Hosea at Bite Food for the delicious food and liquid inspiration; and to all our friends who have encouraged us to make our "tall talk" actually happen.
